Vox Hunt: Summer Reading

Michael Connelly! Harlan Coben! Sara Paretsky's VI Warshawski series!

Have you read Christie's And Then There Were None? That's an effin' great mystery/suspense novel.

Oooh, those are 3 I've been interested in. Did Michael Connelly write Black ice? Or am I thinking of someone else? If he did, then I've read one and really liked it. If not, I'll look it up in the library!

With Sara Paretsky, it's looking like I'm going to have to buy her first few novels. My library doesn't have them. They have the newer ones but I'm a completionist. It's annoying.

Absolutely have! Oh! But you should read her re-write of it as a play. It's quite different. Quite. She's an interesting woman, one more than willing to change her story in order for it to fit it's genre.

He did. I haven't read that one, I don't think (or Concrete Blonde) but I think I've read all the others.

With Sara Paretsky, I'd maybe start with a newer one and then double back. Her first one is Double Indemnity, but it's not my favorite.

I also recommend Laura Lippman; she's awesome. Maybe start with a standalone (To the Power of Three is really good) and then the Tess Monaghan series starts with Baltimore Blues.

Awesome.

With Black Ice, it took me a little bit before I really got into it but I loved it by the end. Of course, I can't remember a ton about it right now (I'm seriously getting old) but I remember loving it.

I'll add them all to my list and see what I can find at the library.

Hurrah! A co-worker is into this show called Harper's Island, which sounds exactly like ATTWN, and I'm like, read the book!

I'll have to check out that play, it sounds really cool.
